Larry the Llama and The Search For His Mama

Our own adopted son was a great little boy like “Opie Taylor” but started acting out as he got older and would say things like “you’re not my real father” which was very hurtful to me. One day I just imagined what would happen if he were to leave me to find his “real” parents. What would his journey be like? What could he, and others, learn from that journey?  So, one day I sat down and put pencil to paper (or maybe it was keyboard to screen?) and described, at an age-appropriate level, what I thought that journey would be like. The result is this book, “Larry the Llama and The Search for His Mama!.”

I love this book! Impressive glossy front and back cover. I love the size and format and glossy pages. It is interesting, fun and a very nice way of teaching children the importance of friends and family. It is very appealing I think not only to children but to the older kids as well. A good bedtime story book.
    Thank you, Larry.

Both our children loved the book! The insisted we read it to them twice.

I was incredibly encouraged by the positive reaction they had to the lessons that Larry learned about what it means to be a “real parent.” It was exciting to introduce the sensitive subject to very young children and normalize their reaction to the idea of adoption.

Aside from all the lessons learned, it was also a fun book to enjoy with the kids!

Cheers to the author for his hard work and passion for the subject matter.

The book is great! When it arrived I was impressed with the quality. It was more touching than expected so I saved it for the week-end when I had the emotional energy. My grand-children were wide-eyed as they listened to the story. The word play and pictures make the story fun to hear! I keep a copy in my lobby and many people have had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the loving, positive message. Your family and the story are inspirational to all families. Thank you for writing it!

and I loved the vocabulary words and definitions throughout the book — such a great learning tool for children and teens. The perfect gift for families with adopted children or
anyone who wants to understand and support adopted children and their families. Thanks Larry and Nick for sharing your inspirational story !
